I had so much fun working with this bride for her wedding makeup look! She wanted to have a very natural makeup finish because she does not wear a lot of makeup. But, she wanted a special emphasis on her eye makeup. Specifically, she wanted her eyes to POP! She took the time to hire a professional makeup artist and I wanted to make sure I delivered exactly what she was looking for. I was so excited for her wedding and I really made it my goal to pull this off for her.
I made sure to do proper skin prep before I applied anything to her face. I used a deep penetrating moisturizer and followed that up with a more intense moisturizer that is formulated with aloe vera. It really helped to sooth her skin and calm some of the redness in her cheeks so that I didn't have to use as much makeup to cover up the red flush of her cheeks.
I wanted her foundation to be as natural as possible. I made sure to blend two different makeup shades so that I could create a very subtle highlight and contour on her face and really give her a natural glow. I did also do a bit of contouring around the perimeter of her face and her nose.
To bring back a little of her rosey glow to her cheeks, I used one of my absolute favorite blushes for bridal makeup. Peaches by Mac Cosmetics. It added a little something there without it looking like we added too much on.
Now to her eyes! When I am trying to figure out the eye makeup ideas for my bridal clients, I often use one of my irridescent bridal eyeshadow pigments that looks gold and pink on her lids. It looks great on most people and really gives the eyes a special glow. I contoured her eyelid and subtly smoked out her eyes using bronze eyeshadow. I made sure to use false eyelashes to give her a bit of drama. And I used a mauve lipstain on her lips that could last and last.
The result? She loved it! She was an absolute sweetheart and I really wanted her vision to come together. I am so happy that her special day was a success and it was an honor to be a part of it!
